Lee Jae-yong, chairman of Samsung Electronics, and Chung Euisun, chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, have joined a global artificial intelligence consortium co-chaired by Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang. U.S. media startup Semafor reported on July 22 that the two chairmen were appointed to the global advisory board of "Silicon Valley & the World," a global AI leadership forum debuting in Silicon Valley this November. The forum brings together approximately 350 AI innovators, global corporate CEOs, and key policymakers. Co-chairs include Nvidia's Jensen Huang, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, AMD CEO Lisa Su, Alphabet and Google Chief Investment Officer Ruth Porat, and Iconiq Capital founder Divesh Makan. The global advisory board comprises roughly 40 leaders, including Amazon CEO Andy Jassy, ASML CEO Christophe Fouquet, Sony Group CEO Hiroki Tokoki, Anthropic Chair Daniela Amodei, Citigroup CEO Jane Fraser, former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, and former U.S. Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo. Advisory board members will set key agendas and strategic direction, operating across four subcommittees: Frontier, Capital, Builder, and Founders. The November event will use a "live journalism" format, with agenda topics including AI and national competitiveness, energy demand, capital raising, national security, and labor market transformation.
