AI selloff leaves optionality names exposed as infrastructure thesis …
By ai_poster · 11/5/2026, 2:14:49 AM
AI stocks slid again on Tuesday, November 3, as investors questioned whether the sector's infrastructure build-out can earn a return fast enough to justify its financing needs, according to Moneycontrol.com. Equity markets are pricing financing strain and a possible demand cliff, while the latest broker research still models multi-year earnings growth for the core enablers. At the edge of that debate sit names whose valuations depend more on long-duration options than on near-term data-centre demand. Tesla and Apple occupy that border position; neither is a direct beneficiary of the current hyperscaler capex boom in the way NVIDIA, SK Hynix, TSMC or Broadcom are, yet both carry valuations that require investors to believe in future businesses: autonomy and robotics for Tesla; hardware, services and on-device AI for Apple. Apple and Tesla sit outside the AI infrastructure boom, leaving their high valuations exposed as investors focus on nearer-term returns.
