DS Looks Beyond AI Inspection to Robotics for Semiconductor Packaging…
By ai_poster · 8/7/2026, 5:44:28 AM
DS, a startup specializing in semiconductor back-end inspection solutions, expects its revenue to more than double this year through customer diversification and expanded direct sales, and plans to extend into intelligent robotics with the long-term goal of building a proprietary AI ecosystem inside semiconductor manufacturing facilities. CEO Han Ki-jun stated, "Our conservative revenue target for this year is more than 2 billion won," adding, "We have been achieving annual revenue growth of more than 100%." Founded in May 2021, DS is a faculty startup established by Han, who is also a professor at Hansung University, with graduate and undergraduate students forming the core development team. The company achieved profitability ahead of schedule in 2024 and was selected for South Korea's "Super Gap Startup 1000+ Project" in the system semiconductor category, later being chosen as an outstanding project in the AX Challenge program and collaborating with LG AI Research. Its flagship solution, DeepSeers, combines deep-learning AI models with optical machine vision technology, optimized for advanced packaging processes including high-bandwidth memory (HBM), and is supplied with customer-specific engineering services. DeepSeers features Auto Teaching, Auto ROI, and overkill reduction to improve manufacturing efficiency, performing both 2D image inspection and 3D scan analysis simultaneously in real time, detecting defects as small as 5 micrometers in advanced 2.5D and 3D packaging processes in as little as 0.01 seconds.
