AI platform company INFINIQ has begun developing an intelligent data processing technology that converts handwritten military logistics documents into AI-based digital data. The company announced it has completed the project kickoff for the development of an OCR-based intelligent data processing and structuring system for unstructured handwritten documents in the military logistics sector under the second round of the 2026 SME Technology Development Support Program, with delivery scheduled for December. The project aims to automatically recognize unstructured logistics documents—including supply requisition forms, maintenance records and inventory status reports—using AI-powered optical character recognition (OCR) and convert them into structured data linked to the Defense Logistics Integrated Information System (DELIIS). INFINIQ said most military logistics forms are currently handwritten and manually re-entered, causing labor consumption and data-entry errors, while conventional OCR solutions using external cloud APIs struggle with military-specific codes like National Stock Numbers (NSNs) and unit abbreviations. The company plans a three-layer hybrid recognition engine combining precision OCR, a visual language model (VLM) for contextual correction, and ontology-based logical validation. The system aims for character recognition accuracy exceeding 95%, a character error rate (CER) below 5%, and processing times under five minutes per document, operating on a fully isolated on-premises network with a five-layer security framework. INFINIQ said the system could reduce data entry and verification time by more than 50%, and accumulated maintenance data could later support time-series analysis for predictive maintenance.
