In an interview, Palm Beach Atlantic University computer science student Alessandro Cotrufo discussed why enterprise AI succeeds or fails based on the quality of the information it receives. Raised in Naples, Florida, and later living in Queens, New York, and Los Angeles, California, Cotrufo believes persistence, curiosity, and continuous learning are often as important as technical skill. He explored why so many capable AI models still struggle in real-world production environments, arguing that the answer depends less on the intelligence of today's models and more on the quality of the information they receive. Cotrufo stated, "The industry has spent years asking how we can build smarter models. I think we're finally reaching the point where we should be asking how we can provide those models with better information." He noted that inside most organizations, knowledge is scattered across dozens of disconnected platforms, including SharePoint, Confluence, Notion, Google Drive, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Salesforce, Jira, Zendesk, GitHub, or internal databases, with very few communicating meaningfully with one another.
