A study by Dainik Bhaskar analysing top prompts across major AI platforms including ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Grok found Indian users treat AI as a tutor, career guide, translator, and personal counsellor, unlike global users who treat it as a utility tool. This pattern is driven by a young population, competitive exams, linguistic diversity, and growing digital dependence. According to Menlo Ventures, out of 1.7 to 1.8 billion AI users globally, around 500 to 600 million use these tools daily. Meta AI leads the global user base at 1.2 Billion monthly active users, followed by ChatGPT at 1.0 Billion, Google Gemini at 950 Million, Microsoft Copilot at 420 Million, Claude at 245 Million, and Grok at 117 Million, per Sensor Tower and Reuters. In India, top questions include asking Grok for horoscope and marriage timing, asking Gemini for the best smartphone within a ₹20,000 budget, and asking ChatGPT to draft complaint letters for electricity bill issues. India's top uses include advice and decisions, exams and careers such as UPSC, JEE, NEET, and banking, Hindi-to-English and English-to-Hindi translations, investments and government schemes like SIPs, mutual funds, ITR filing, 'Ladli Behna' and 'PM Kisan', and personal life matters including horoscopes, arranged marriages, and family disputes.
